Georgetown American University’s students who complete the Preclinical Sciences program can do their clinical sciences clerkship rotations in the USA at our affiliate hospitals and medical centers in Georgia and New York.
4. Transfer into Clinical Sciences
Students transferring into Year 3 of GAUSOM must complete Block 10 (6 weeks Clinical Sciences foundation course) and the Comprehensive NBME Step 1 Exams before enrollment into Clinical Sciences program. Transfer students must enroll in GAU and complete at least 52 weeks of the Core Clinical Sciences courses and the eight weeks’ final year project of the MD program to be eligible to Graduate from GAU.

The requirement for the Doctor of Medicine Program
Undergraduate GPA with at least 2.7 from a recognized university or college, or University/College 90 credit hours with the completion of the following courses:
The requirement for Clinical Sciences Transfer
Applications are accepted three times per year, for January, May, and September trimesters. Students can apply online. After the admissions office receives a full application (application form and associated documents), the academic committee will process the application within ten business days.
The applicant will be invited to attend a virtual interview with representatives of the admissions committee. After completing the interview, applicants should expect an email within ten business days on their application status.
