Thank you for having an interest in the American Heart Association Training program. HeartCode® BLS is an official, self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program from the American Heart Association (AHA). Georgetown American University is an authorized training center for the American Heart Association. Due to the Pandemic, we are introducing a blending BLS program approved by the American Heart Association. For more information on the Program please view our animation video:
Certification: Upon completion, you will receive an official American Heart Association Certificate Card valid for two years.

Due to Covid19 Pandemic, Part 1 of our course is online

Blending Learning Program has 3 Parts:
Part 1 – A self-paced series of online training modules (created by the American Heart Association). Online modules can be completed around your busy schedule. Once completed successfully you can register for part 2 of the course.
Part 2 – Skills practice at our facility (this part of the training will commence when the curfew is lifted)
Part 3 – Skills test at our facility (this part of the training will commence when the curfew is lifted)

AHA COURSES FOR GENERAL COMMUNITY

Heartsaver First-aid
This is an instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrive. Students learn the duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings.
Heartsaver CPR AED
Heartsaver CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students the critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. Skills covered in this course include first aid; choking relief in adults, children, and infants; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED
This course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 U.S. states. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.
Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens is a classroom course that teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction.
